Steiner free school approved

Promising more freedom for teachers and more choice for parents, free schools are one of the coalition government’s flagship policies. A Steiner free school, the Frome Steiner Academy, is due to open in September 2012. It will be the first in Somerset. Read more about it here.

QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR

Salary range : £21,000 – £25,000 pro rata per annum, starting salary will be subject to qualifications and experience.

16 hours per week with the possibility of increasing in the second year.

Crossfields Institute is a rapidly growing charity, based in Stroud, working in response to the demand for accreditation and research for alternative education and is now looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Your organisational, administrative, planning and team working skills will be underpinned with energy, enthusiasm and a determination to move onwards and upwards.

We invite applicants with teaching or assessment experience, who have an interest in quality assurance and excellent IT, communication and administrative skills to apply.

Open University sets low tuition fees

The Open University has announced tuition fees of £5,000 per year for the equivalent of a full-time place for students in England from next year. This is roughly half the cost of regular university fees.
